Important Notice – QKR App Security Incident
Over the weekend, our online platform Qkr was the target of a security issue. This may have resulted in some customers noticing a $1 payment pending on their card.
If this has occurred, we strongly advise you to:
Contact your bank immediately
Cancel your card and request a replacement
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this has caused, not only to you as our valued customer but also to our business.
Background
We have been advised by Qkr (operated by Mastercard www.mastercard.com.au/en-au/vision/who-we-are/innovations/qkr.html ) was impacted by a ‘bin attack’, where stolen credit card details are used to attempt small fraudulent transactions.
While only two isolated cases were identified across schools last week (one linked to Jude Fina Foods), we have already put additional measures in place to reduce risk. Business will continue as normal, and Qkr will be implementing further security steps in the coming days to ensure this does not happen again.
What to Do
Please monitor your bank account closely. If you see any unfamiliar transactions, contact your bank immediately.
We will continue to work closely with Qkr and the Department of Education to protect our customers and provide updates if necessary.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.
